In their strategic planning, BERACA has placed social responsibility focused on sustainability as the center of their activities and projects. Partnerships and ventures are implemented in strict accordance with the company’s sustainability policy.
The group’s products and services are based on the tripod of sustainable development, analyzing their economic, social and environmental benefits and impacts.
The concept of sustainability is more than just a theory – it is part of the very fabric and everyday routine of the company.
Corporate Commitments
Partnerships to build a better world
To keep up with society’s constant evolution to achieve a better world, BERACA is an active collaborator in several significant projects in the corporate world.
Right Way Program
In 2009, BERACA joined the Right Way Program, an initiative of Childhood Brazil (a human rights organization), which seeks to mobilize and awaken governments, companies and civil society organizations to the need of doing something about the sexual exploitation of children and teenagers on Brazilian highways.
In an alliance with the Ethos Institute of Companies and Social Responsibility, the program created the Businessmen’s Pact, a strategy to encourage companies to become involved in the solution of this issue. BERACA is committed, among other things, to:
- Create mechanisms in their commercial relationships that require their suppliers, especially those directly responsible for the transportation of the products, to comply with the principles and commitments of this pact.
- Define commercial restrictions against companies and/or individuals that allow, utilize or encourage the sexual exploitation of children and teenagers on the Brazilian highways.
SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
BERACA is proud to present their first Sustainability Report, in compliance GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) and Global Compact – UN criteria. This report conveys the company’s social-environmental practices, in compliance with their convictions, their commitment to social well being and the interdependency with reality that must be achieved. With this, BERACA seeks affinity with their customers and also endeavors to stimulate their partners to implement and participate in this process of building a just and sustainable society.
